Il suono abrasivo originato dalla band Distorsonic ruota essenzialmente intorno al basso e agli effetti del bassista Maurizio Iorio, affiancato dal formidabile drumming di Fabrizio La Fauci. Il loro primo album, "Psychohaven", pubblicato dalla Minus Habens Records, è prevalentemente strumentale, ad eccezione di cinque brani che ospitano la voce della scrittrice e attrice (Scarlet Diva) Vera Gemma.
Prima di realizzare questo primo album, Maurizio Iorio ha partecipato e contribuito a diverse registrazioni e tournée, tra i quali con il musicista cult Moltheni. Ha composto e registrato un brano, "Mystic", che è stato incluso nella colonna sonora del documentario prodotto da Ganga "The Big Question", girato sul set del film "La Passione di Cristo", con Mel Gibson e Monica Bellucci. Sempre come bassista e compositore Maurizio Iorio sta terminando le registrazioni di un side project, Not Me, insieme al dj Andrea Lai.
The fulcrum of Distorsonic's abrasive sound is Maurizio Iorio’s bass and effects, accompanied by Fabrizio La Fauci’s powerful drumming. Their first album, "Psychohaven", on Minus Habens Records, is mainly instrumental, except for five tracks that feature writer/actress Vera Gemma’s (Scarlet Diva) voice.
Prior to realizing his first album, Maurizio Iorio participated and contributed to various recordings and tours, with musicians such as cult artist Moltheni. He has composed and recorded an instrumental track, "Mystic", for the documentary "The Big Question", shot on the set of "The Passion of Christ", with Mel Gibson and Monica Bellucci, produced by Ganga. He is presently recording a side project, "Not Me", with DJ Andrea Lai.

Il 14 luglio Maurizio Iorio suonerà nell‘ambito della manifestazione musicale Arezzo Wave, all‘interno della rassegna Sonic Cinema.
Le musiche, composte da Ivan Iusco, verranno impiegate come commento sonoro a immagini cinematografiche.

On July 14th, Maurizio Iorio will be playing at Arezzo Wave, as part of the Sonic Cinema show.
The songs, composed by Ivan Iusco, will be played live to accompany projected films.
 

Maurizio Iorio e Andrea Lai sono in studio per completare le registrazioni del loro primo album: Not Me. Tra gli ospiti Boosta dei Subsonica e Vera Gemma.
L’album sarà pubblicato entro l’inverno dalla Minus Habens Records e sarà distribuito in Europa e in Giappone.

 04-2006 Maurizio Iorio and Andrea Lai are in the studio finishing up the recording of their first album, "Not Me". It features guest appearances by Subsonica’s Boosta and Vera Gemma.
The album will be coming out this winter on Minus Habens Records and will be distributed in Europe and Japan.
 
Cult Network ha utilizzato una composizione di Maurizio Iorio - “Hypnotic pt 2” - per la sonorizzazione di un filler realizzato dalla società di produzione Ganga.
La messa in onda è prevista per il mese di aprile all'interno della programmazione del canale satellitare.

It will be on the air starting in April during the satellite channel’s regular programming.
 
Un DVD allestito dalla prestigiosa Accademia di Moda e Costume di Roma ha impiegato come colonna sonora musiche inedite di Maurizio Iorio, Distorsonic e di Andrea Lai con Maurizio Iorio. Il DVD non sarà posto in commercio, essendo il suo utilizzo circoscritto all'Accademia stessa.
 03-2006 The Accademia di Moda e Costume di Roma has chosen some unpublished tracks composed by Maurizio Iorio, Distorsonic and Andrea Lai with Maurizio Iorio for the soundtrack of an upcoming DVD for the Academy’s own use, so it will obviously not be available in stores.
 
Il titolo del primo album Distorsonic è Psychohaven, ed è pubblicato dalla Minus Habens Records.
L'uscita, inizialmente prevista per metà gennaio, è slittata ad aprile. Il disco è composto da undici tracce e sarà pubblicato in Europa e in Giappone.

Maurizio Iorio sta preparando una serie di installazioni sonore insieme al D.J. Andrea Lai, sotto il nome Artspace Dancefloor Experience.
Rigorosamente live e incentrato sull’improvvisazione, le serate saranno registrate per cui è molto probabile la pubblicazione di un album.

Grande successo a Roma alla Casa del Cinema domenica 27 novembre, dove è stato proiettato il documentario “The Big Question”, girato e diretto da Francesco Cabras e Alberto Molinari per la società di produzione GANGA.
Un brano di Maurizio Iorio, “Mystic”, è incluso nella colonna sonora.
Il film uscirà nelle sale cinematografiche americane nel feb. 2006, mentre in Italia uscirà su D.V.D. Rarovideo.
Il documentario è stato girato direttamente sul set durante le riprese del film di Mel Gibson “La Passione Di Cristo” ed ha tra i protagonisti lo stesso Gibson.
 12-2005 The first public viewing of the documentary "The Big Question" took place on Sunday, November 27th at the Casa del Cinema in Rome.
Shot and directed by Francesco Cabras and Alberto Molinari for Ganga, it includes one of Maurizio Iorio’s compositions, “Mystic”.
The movie will be in American movie theaters in February 2006, and in Italy it will be released on DVD by Rarovideo.
The documentary was shot entirely on the set and during the filming of Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of Christ” and features Gibson himself.
